“Here’s the thing. Trump’s star isn’t in West Hollywood where they voted, it’s in Hollywood. And one has absolutely nothing to do with the other,” said Kimmel, whose talk show is taped half a block and across the street from Trump's Hollywood Walk of Fame star. "West Hollywood and Hollywood are like Virginia and West Virginia, they’re unrelated, which means there’s no reason for the West Hollywood City Council to be voting on this," Kimmel added. Trump received his Walk of Fame star in January 2007 for his work as Miss Universe pageant producer, although it was timed for The Apprentice: Los Angeles season. Meanwhile, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, who used to be the L.A. City Council member for Hollywood, said he thinks Trump's star should stay put.
