Cameron, who died Oct. 22 from complications from a stroke, starred on the Saturday-morning CBS superhero series The Secrets of Isis for two seasons, from 1975 to 1977. The Secrets of Isis was the first superhero show to have a leading female role, starring Cameron as a high school science teacher who discovers an enchanted amulet while in Egypt that bestowed upon her the powers of the goddess Isis. The Secrets of Isis premiered two months before Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman and four months before Lindsay Wagner's The Bionic Woman. During her stint as the DC Comics-based character, Cameron also reprised her role on the show Shazam! Cameron left acting in 1980 and had been living in Hawaii.
