Nielsen's early numbers for Thursday reveal that a total of 13.1 million total viewers watched Trump's town hall across NBC, MSNBC and CNBC, while 13.9 million watched Biden's town hall on ABC at the same time. Biden winning the town hall ratings battle came as a surprise, especially since Trump's town hall was on three networks. “Everybody in TV business assumed that Donald Trump would prevail in this ratings race," said CNN's Brian Stelter. "The Trump campaign predicted that he would out-rate Biden’s town hall.” ALSO: NBC is happy to lose this ratings battle. UPDATE: Final numbers reveal Biden beat Trump by more than 1.5 million viewers: 15.1 million for Biden, 13.5 for Trump.
