Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer will debut in January, 19 years after the original Joe Millionaire became a reality TV sensation in January 2003 as a response to The Bachelor with construction worker Evan Marriott as its star. Jersey Shore creator SallyAnn Salsano is behind the Joe Millionaire reboot, which will feature two single men -- one an actual millionaire, the other dirt broke. In Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer, 20 women will date both single men, knowing that one is rich and one is poor. But they'll have no idea who the real "Joe Millionaire" is. The original Joe Millionaire premiered to 18 million viewers, soaring to 40 million for its finale. Fox brought the show back as The Next Joe Millionaire in late 2003, filmed in Italy with English-speaking European women, but that version had only a fraction of the original's viewership. “This revival of Joe Millionaire represents a potent combination: one of the most innovative and popular dating shows of all time with SallyAnn Salsano, who ranks among the most fearless producers in the business,” said Fox reality chief Rob Wade. “I’ve long admired Joe Millionaire for its daring premise, and since the moment I joined Fox, I’ve wanted to bring it back in the spotlight in a whole new way for both new viewers and fans of the original.” Watch Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer's trailer.
