John Coleman dies: GMA’s first meteorologist co-founded The Weather Channel and later became a high-profile climate-change denier

Coleman, 83, joined ABC's Good Morning America when it launched in 1975. In 1981, he helped launch The Weather Channel and became its first CEO. In his later years, however, he drew scorn for calling climate change a “hoax” and a “scam” that was part of a “liberal, political agenda.”
