John Mahoney, who played Frasier’s dad, dies at 77

The British-born actor died Sunday in Chicago in hospice care. Mahoney didn’t start acting until later in his life, becoming famous for roles in the film Say Anything and as Martin Crane, Frasier’s dad, from 1993 to 2004. His Frasier role earned him two Emmy nominations, as well as two Golden Globe nominations. In recent years, Mahoney had roles on TV Land's Hot in Cleveland and the HBO series In Treatment.
