It was in November 2017 that The New York Times published its Louis CK exposé that accused Becky of playing a part in trying to keep the comedian's accusers quiet about CK's sexual misconduct. Pamela Adlon dropped Becky within days of the story's publication and he lost his executive producer credit on Broad City. But many high-profile comedians and comedic actors -- including Amy Poehler, Jameela Jamil, Bill Burr, Aziz Ansari, Kevin Hart and Hannibal Buress -- have stuck with him. Why did Mulaney wait until now to reveal he dropped Becky? "When it happened — when I made the decision — in terms of why I didn’t make a press release, honestly, I didn’t feel I had anything that noble to add, and issuing a simple statement of one sentence that I fired Dave seemed evasive and honestly an unhelpful use of everyone’s time and taking up oxygen," Mulaney tells Splitsider's Megh Wright. "I did tell anyone who asked — comedian, representative, or otherwise. And I have been quite ready to tell any journalist who asked, and I believe you are the first. So if I am mistaken and someone did, I apologize, but I think you are the first to ask."
