The former Daily Show host blamed the U.S. Senate majority leader on Fox News Sunday for Congress having to face pressure every few years to pass the 9/11 compensation bills for first responders. McConnell responded Monday morning on Fox & Friends, accusing Stewart of attention-seeking and being “all bent out of shape" over this issue. So Stewart took over Stephen Colbert's desk on Monday night to slam McConnell. "I'm not bent out of shape, I'm fine," said Stewart. "I'm bent out of shape for them. These are the first heroes and veterans and victims of the great trillions of dollars War on Terror. And they are currently dying, suffering and in terrible need. You know you would think that would be enough for Congress to pay attention, but apparently, it's not."
