The Dawson's Creek and The Affair alum, who's coming off of Hulu's Little Fires Everywhere, has boarded the Peacock podcast-based limited series in the title role. He replaces Dornan, who had to drop out because of scheduling conflicts due to the coronavirus pandemic. This Is Us star Chris Sullivan, who was set to play the doctor's life-long friend, has also had to exit Dr. Death due to coronavirus-related scheduling conflicts. He'll be replaced by Dominic Burgess. “Due to production delays relating to the coronavirus pandemic, Jamie Dornan… is no longer professionally available to participate in the production," Peacock said in a statement. Dr. Death is the true story of Dr. Christopher Duntsch, a former neurosurgeon who became known as Dr. Death after his surgeries resulted in the death and maiming of multiple patients in Dallas.
