Asked what’s next for his career, Apatow told the The Boston Globe he’s “about to start work with my partner Michael Bonfiglio on a documentary about George Carlin. So I’m looking forward to watching a lot of Carlin interviews and specials. I think his work turned out to be very prophetic.” It's not clear if the documentary will be made for HBO. But HBO makes the most sense since Carlin made 14 comedy specials for the pay cable network. Apatow also has strong ties to HBO with his Garry Shandling documentary and his past work on Girls, Crashing and The Larry Sanders Show.
