Variety reports there have been "fluid" talks to keep McKinnon on Saturday Night Live in some capacity next season. McKinnon joined SNL near the end of the 2011-12 season on April 7, 2012. She recently signed on to play Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes in the Hulu limited series The Dropout, a role that would limit her ability to perform on SNL next season, according to Variety's Brian Steinberg. "While her representatives and SNL producers are working to find a way to keep her appearing on the program, it’s entirely possible McKinnon’s sketches over the next few weeks could be her last as a full-time member of the SNL cast," says Steinberg.
