Kathy Griffin is a “comic in exile" after Trump controversy, but she has an open invitation to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The backlash to Griffin's infamous President Trump beheading photo instantly “sent her life into a tailspin,” Seth Abramovitch says in a profile of Griffin. “She was abandoned in droves by longtime friends, terrorized with death threats from Trump supporters and targeted by federal agents investigating whether she should be charged with conspiracy to assassinate the president of the United States (after two months, they decided the answer was no).” Even Griffin’s mother was appalled. “She said, 'I am not with you on this one, Kathy. You've gone too far,’” says Griffin. Still, if Griffin wants to make a show business comeback, Kimmel — who has featured Griffin on his show 39 times since 2003, according to IMDb — has offered her a spot on his show. "She didn't hurt anyone," says Kimmel, adding: “She is one of the funniest people in the world. She'll be bigger than ever."
