Ellen DeGeneres asked Thompson if he'll still be on the sketch-comedy series for "a fourth president." Thompson, who joined Saturday Night Live in 2003 during the George W. Bush administration, responded: “Oh, I would love it.” It was expected that if NBC orders Thompson's comedy pilot, The Kenan Show co-starring Andy Garcia, he would exit Saturday Night Live after 16 seasons. (Thompson also serves as a judge on the NBC reality competition Bring the Funny.) "You're staying?" Ellen asked. “Yeah,” Thompson said. “It’s the best job in the world. I can’t see myself just walking away from it like that, even with how busy I’ve been lately.” The Wrap reached out to a rep to ask if this means The Kenan Show will not be picked up to series, and the rep said it was "too soon" to tell.
