The Oscar-winning Yellowstone star is expanding into network television (and other national parks) with the drama pilot ISB, which follows the elite special agents of the Investigative Services Branch who are tasked with solving the most complex and heinous crimes committed within the diverse and majestic National Parks of the ISB’s Pacific West region. Costner will executive produce and co-write the series with Aaron Helbing, who will serve as showrunner. This will be Costner's first-ever writing credit. ISB is the second national park crime-fighting drama in the works this pilot season. In October, CBS bought the Wilmer Valderrama-produced The Trail, a drama about an elite unit of investigators within the U.S. National Park Service who work to solve the highest-profile cases in Yosemite National Park. “This project came from a long running friendship with Tana Jamieson of A+E Studios,” said Costner in a statement. “We had previously developed a project together and when she asked me to work with her on this, her passion for the project made it an easy decision for me and Territory. I am excited to be working with ABC because of their history of breaking new ground and for their strong support of our creative vision.”
