Kim Cattrall joins How I Met Your Father as narrator

Cattrall will play the future version of Hilary Duff’s Sophie, who is telling her son the story of how she met his father, in Hulu's spinoff of How I Met Your Mother. Cattrall's role is akin to Bob Saget's as the future Ted Mosby in How I Met Your Mother. Cattrall's older version of Sophie will transport viewers back to the year 2021, when Duff's younger version and her friends "are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options." How I Met Your Father marks Cattrall's return to TV after starring last year on Fox's short-lived drama Filthy Rich. UPDATE: "When @kimcattrall said yes I screamed," Duff wrote on Instagram.
