The iconic studio has served as home to All in the Family, The Carol Burnett Show, American Idol, The Late Late Show with James Corden, The Price is Right, Three’s Company, Dancing With the Stars and numerous other shows. CBS Television City is also where Elvis Presley taped his famous 1956 The Ed Sullivan Show debut. In a Los Angeles Times op-ed, former Los Angeles City Councilmember and Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky writs of his concern over CBS’ interest in selling the property for as much as $900 million. “What becomes of Television City is a citywide concern as much as it is a neighborhood one. Los Angeles should not let developers turn the historic studio complex into a mini Century City,” he writes in the Los Angeles times.
