Last Man Standing returns to big ratings in its Fox debut, beating ABC and all Friday shows

Two years ago, Last Man Standing Season 6 premiered to 5.9 million viewers and a 1.1 demo rating on ABC. Friday night, Last Man Standing Season 7 debuted to 8 million viewers and a 1.8 demo rating on Fox. "The comedy was not expected to grow because, frankly, older shows rarely improve year over year, changing networks usually does not boost an audience and Fox has long struggled to get viewers to their Friday night lineup," says James Hibberd. "But LMS has had the benefit of more press attention than usual thanks to the network shakeup, so perhaps that helped matters."
