Jean Carroll's sexual assault allegation that came out last Friday received short shrift in the mainstream media, with even The New York Times executive editor Dean Baquet expressing regret for not putting it on the front page and relegating it to the book section. As Dennis Perkins notes, Trevor Noah, Seth Meyers and Stephen Colbert "spent segments on their Tuesday shows vainly attempting to pick up the journalistic slack" regarding Carroll's allegation.
