Lena Waithe moves from Showtime to Amazon

The Chi creator has signed an overall deal with Amazon after several years of working at Showtime. Amazon already has a relationship with Waithe after picking up her anthology series Them last year. "Lena is a powerhouse writer and producer who also has a gift for identifying exciting and authentic voices,” Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke said in a statement.
