Lonesome Dove author Larry McMurtry dies at 84

McMurtry wrote 29 novels, many of which were turned into films, including The Last Picture Show, Hud and Terms of Endearment. He won the Pulitzer Prize for writing the 1985 novel Lonesome Dove, which was turned into the 1989 CBS epic Western adventure miniseries that earned 18 Emmy nominations, winning seven.
