Kirby's guest role as Lenny Bruce is so beloved he's been nominated for two Emmys, winning one, for the role. “We never intended for Lenny to be as important as he is,” said Amy Sherman-Palladino at the Woodstock Film Festival. But she adds he'll be "in a little bit more" in Season 4.
