The allegations against Schulman weren't made public, but The Daily Beast reports MTV has temporarily suspended production on Catfish: The TV Show. “We take these allegations very seriously,” an MTV spokesperson said in a statement. “We’re working with Critical Content, our third party production company, to conduct a thorough investigation.” Schulman issued his own statement to The Daily Beast, saying: "I have always been transparent about my life and would always take responsibility for my actions—but these claims are false." Schulman has previously faced misconduct allegations against women. As The Cut notes, Schulman was expelled from Sarah Lawrence College for repeatedly punching a woman in the head. Schulman wrote in his book that he acted in self defense.
