MTV is using the VMAs to launch a midterm voter registration drive

MTV is calling the voter drive "+1thevote" in reference to the phrase of bringing a guest to a concert. "Voting is important," says MTV president Chris McCarthy. "It matters. But voting with a friend matters even more." ALSO: Aerosmith to close out the VMAs.
