Mara Brock Akil signs an overall deal with Netflix

Akil's deal comes ahead of her classic sitcom Girlfriends' premiere on Netflix on Friday. In addition to Girlfriends, Akil created The Game, co-created Love Is with her husband Salim Akil and executive produces Black Lightning.
