The future Access Hollywood co-host's appearance on The Candace Owens Show in June is making headlines this week. Lopez suggested to the conservative pundit it was "dangerous" for parents of children as young as 3 years old to definitively label their kids transgender. Among those criticizing Lopez was Queer Eye's Karamo Brown, who tweeted: "I'm disappointed to read @MarioLopezExtra comments about parent's who support their child's openes (sic) about their gender identity. As a social worker I am trained to identify abuse or neglect of a child. Healthy & safe dialogue w/ kids is neither abusive, neglectful or 'dangerous.' "I don't think @MarioLopezExtra should be 'canceled.' But I do believe he should be given the opportunity to learn why his comments are harmful to trans youth and their parents." UPDATE: Lopez acknowledges his comments were "ignorant" and "hurtful," and says he plans to "better educate myself."
