The former Extra host will replace Natalie Morales, who exited Access last April. Lopez will join Kit Hoover and Scott Evans as host on both Access Hollywood and Access Live beginning Monday, Sept. 9. In addition to his new Access role, Lopez has signed an overall deal with Universal Television and Universal Television Alternative Studio to develop and produce both scripted and unscripted content for the studios. Lopez is leaving Extra before this fall to make way for the rebooted Extra Extra, hosted by Billy Bush.
