"I'm not hedging to say it’s not impossible that I said that, but I really don’t remember saying it." Days later when asked about his comment, Weiner said: “I can’t see a scenario where I would say that,” adding: “I never felt that way and I never acted that way towards Kater.” Asked to respond to Weiner's comment, Gordon said via email: “That was not an isolated incident, but it was the most affecting.” In the article, Weiner also said he would reach out to former colleagues to see if their memories squared with his, and to apologize if necessary. Yet Weiner appeared to contradict himself by saying he hasn't spoken to Gordon since she made her allegation last year.
