Canadian viewers prefer watching the much-hyped American commercials during the Super Bowl, so much so that the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission ruled last year that CTV had to carry the American ads during the big game. But NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell objected to the ruling because it devalued CTV's Super Bowl package, preventing it from earning more money by selling local Canadian ads. So with Trump's influence, Canada agreed to drop the provision as part of its involvement in the new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement. “We greatly appreciate President Trump’s leadership and determination in bringing about a resolution to our intellectual property issue in Canada,” said Goodell in a statement.
