NFL is likely to elimiate its Week 1 Monday Night Football doubleheader

Since 2006, Monday Night Football has kicked off the season on ESPN with back-to-back games, including one West Coast game ending in the early morning hours on the East Coast. Instead of two Week 1 Monday Night Football games, the NFL is expected to give ESPN two back-to-back games on a Saturday in Week 18.
