The Desperate Housewives and Band of Brothers alum, who currently stars on Project Blue Book, says he's had a long-standing policy of not kissing any woman other than his wife, in adherence with his Catholic faith. McDonough tells Closer Weekly that that stance cost him a job on ABC's Scoundrels in 2010 when he refused to participate in a sexy scene with Virginia Madsen and was dropped three days later. "After that, I couldn’t get a job because everybody thought I was this religious zealot," he says. "I am very religious. I put God and family first, and me second. That’s what I live by. It was hard for a few years."
