Seven Seconds, When They See Us, Orange Is the New Black, Dear White People and #blackAF are among the shows in Netflix's new Black Lives Matters collection. The streaming service came up with the collection after noticing an uptick in searches for "Black Lives Matter" amid the George Floyd protests. Netflix's move comes a week after "white savior" movie The Help became the No. 1 streaming film on Netflix, prompting many on Twitter, including star Bryce Dallas Howard, to suggest alternatives. “When we say ‘Black Lives Matter,’ we also mean ‘Black storytelling matters,'” Netflix tweeted. ”With an understanding that our commitment to true, systemic change will take time – we’re starting by highlighting powerful and complex narratives about the Black experience.”
