Community's Season 2 episode “Advanced Dungeons & Dragons," which aired in February 2011, features Jeong's Ben Chang wearing blackface during a game of Dungeons & Dragons. The Wrap reports that the episode has been pulled from Netflix amid the racial reckoning sparked by George Floyd's death that has Hollywood regretting blackface portrayals. The episode remains on Hulu, where Community also streams. In the episode, Jeong's Chang shows up to the game wearing a white wig and black makeup covering all of his exposed skin. “So, we’re just going to ignore that hate crime, huh?” Yvette Nicole Brown's Shirley says to Chang, who responds: “I’m a dark elf or a drow.” Chang proceeds to play the game dressed that way. Sony Pictures Television, the studio behind Community, declined The Wrap's request for comment. UPDATE: Hulu has joined Netflix in pulling Community's blackface episode.
