“I remember it because I was filming Clash of the Titans at the time, so I had long hair extensions," says Hoult, while promoting his new film Tolkien. "They gave me a ponytail and also a very patchy fake tan. So I remember being like, ‘This is probably not what they’re hoping for,’ and it obviously wasn’t.” If Hoult had been cast, he would've been the third alum from the first generation of Skins to join the HBO series. Hoult co-starred with Gendry actor Joe Dempsie -- who also auditioned for Jon Snow -- and Gilly actress Hannah Murray on the first two seasons of the British teen series. (The first generation of Skins also included Oscar nominees Dev Patel and Daniel Kaluuya, as well as Netflix Spinning Out star Kaya Scodelario, who played Hoult's sister.)
