Dukakis, who earned an Oscar for best supporting actress for Moonstruck, died Saturday morning "after many months of failing health," her brother wrote on Facebook. Dukakis had numerous TV and movie credits, with roles on everything from The Simpsons to Bored to Death. Her most notable TV role was as eccentric, marijuana-growing landlady Anna Madrigal on Armistead Maupin's 1993 PBS miniseries Tales of the City. She would go on to reprise the role in 1998's More Tales of the City, earning an Emmy nomination, 2001's Further Tales of the City and Netflix's 2019 revival Tales of the City. Dukakis also earned Emmy nominations for the 1999 CBS miniseries Joan of Arc and the 1991 ABC TV movie Lucky Day.
