Monday and Tuesday mark the 100th anniversary of the massacre that gained attention in recent years thanks to HBO's Watchmen. On Saturday, History Channel will present Tulsa Burning: The 1921 Race Massacre. PBS' Tulsa: The Fire and the Forgotten and CNN's Dreamland: The Burning of Black Wall Street air Monday. And OWN's The Legacy of Black Wall Street airs Tuesday. Another Tulsa Race Massacre documentary, Nat Geo/Hulu's Rise Again: Tulsa and The Red Summer, airs on June 18. “In light of the past year and George Floyd’s murder, it is an important story to tell,” History's Tulsa Burning director Stanley Nelson tells TVLine says of his film, which includes real-life survivors and descendants. “But it was a real challenge as a filmmaker to tell one story in 1921 and another in 2021 and tell both stories, which have a lot of suspense and tension.”
