Trump's tweet(s) this morning badmouthing Baldwin's impression of him is dead-on, says Alex Shephard, who argues that Baldwin is whining about the "agony" of impersonating Trump while he spent the past two years "cashing in" on the high-profile gig. "Baldwin deserves some credit for advancing a more menacing depiction of Trump, but his take is still slap-dash and perfunctory," says Shephard. "He sleepwalks through all of the now familiar Trump tics, without offering much in the way of jokes, let alone insight. (The President Show's) Anthony Atamuniak, who does a much better Trump, grasped Trump’s thuggishness and insecurity long before Baldwin did, and Baldwin has paid tribute to Atamuniak’s superior impression by insecurely badmouthing the less successful comedian and actor on late night TV. Also, Baldwin gets the voice wrong." ALSO: Watch this week's SNL promos with Charles Barkley.
