Trump had previously announced he would present the awards today at 5 p.m. ET, but the following day news broke that he would be attending the Alabama-Georgia championship game in Atlanta, which is scheduled to kick off just three hours later, at 8 p.m. E.T. “The Fake News Awards, those going to the most corrupt & biased of the Mainstream Media, will be presented to the losers on Wednesday, January 17th, rather than this coming Monday,” Trump tweeted. The interest in, and importance of, these awards is far greater than anyone could have anticipated!” In response, Dr. Saturday, a college football media website, tweeted that “The National Championship Game is so big it bumped the fake news awards.”
