RIP Jack Good: TV music pioneer created Shindig! and put rock ’n’ roll on British TV

“He inspired my whole life” by creating Shindig! in the 1960s, Paul Shaffer says of Good , who died recently at age 86. According to the NY Times, Good “was an unlikely rock evangelist. He was not a musician, a record executive or a disc jockey; rather, he was an adventurous Oxford-educated actor whose proper style provided counterpoint to rock ’n’ roll’s brashness.”
