After Davidson complained about his experiences on Saturday Night Live in an interview with Charlamagne tha God, sources at Saturday Night Live fired back via Page Six. Not only did Lorne Michaels allow Davidson to take a few episodes off to shoot Suicide Squad, but an insider says that he was allowed an "unheard of" week off to attend a friend's wedding. “Pete has a pretty cushy gig, to say the least,” another source told Page Six. “The cast isn’t into him,” said yet another. “He’s just there — he doesn’t add much.” Page Six notes that Davidson considers Michaels, who arranged for Davidson to get help after his 2018 suicide scare, a "father figure." Another source adds: “Lorne recognizes that Pete is enormously valuable to the show. The nature of any ensemble cast is to make use of each person’s unique comedy style. The show works with cast members’ best interests in mind.”
