A new report from data analyst Zach Edwards found that the link Quibi users used to verify their email address sent their information to several third-party advertising and analytics firms. The third parties included Google, Twitter, Snapchat and Facebook, which would make it easier to track users' online activity with ads. In response, Quibi told Variety it addressed the issue “immediately” once the company was notified. “Data protection is essential to Quibi and the security of user information is of the highest priority,” Quibi said. “The moment the issue on our web page was revealed to our security and engineering team, we fixed it immediately.”
