Republican convention could be moved to an outdoor stadium in Jacksonville to avoid spreading coronavirus

The Aug. 24-27 convention is still scheduled for the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, but Republican officials are exploring whether it can be held at the nearby minor league ballpark 121 Financial Ballpark or TIAA Bank Field, home to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The football stadium seats more than 65,000, while the baseball stadium has an 11,000-person capacity.
