The songwriter-composer worked on the entire run of the Sullivan Show, working with iconic guests including The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. He also famously tweaked the lyrics to the Rolling Stones’ 1967 performance of “Let's Spend the Night Together" so that it would be suitable for CBS censors.
