Saturday Night Live topped all entertainment shows in the demo not just in late-night, but in all of ad-supported primetime television, thanks in part to the 2020 presidential election last fall. SNL aired six straight episodes for the first time in its history to kick off Season 46. SNL is also the top-rated comedy in the demo for the second straight year. SNL averaged 2.67 million viewers in the 18-49 demographic, enough to edge out Fox's The Masked Singer and NBC's This Is Us. Among total viewers, SNL averaged 9 million viewers per episode in seven-day ratings, placing the show 12th overall. “SNL is one of the most culturally significant shows in television history, and being No. 1 in its 46th season is a testament to how that relevance has continued to grow over the past five decades,” said Susan Rovner, chairman entertainment content at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. “One of the greatest gifts of this role is being able to watch the SNL team do what they do each week, all while keeping the show as strong and vibrant as ever.” ALSO: Steve Harvey on Kenan Thompson's SNL impression of him: He "probably owes me 5% of his total earnings."
