Saturday Night Live will be back Saturday for its third and maybe final SNL At Home edition, according to Global TV, which broadcasts the NBC variety show in Canada. SNL has waited until the Thursday before each SNL At Home episode to make an official announcement. But this Saturday makes sense since the second SNL At Home came two weeks after the first one. And this Saturday will be two weeks after the second one. (It's possible each SNL At Home episode takes two weeks to make because of the logistics of producing the show remotely.) SNL usually schedules its season finale the weekend before Memorial Day Weekend. But if indeed it takes two weeks to produce each SNL At Home episode, then the fourth edition would have to happen during Memorial Day Weekend, after the TV season is over. So it also makes sense that the season finale would air this weekend. UPDATE: SNL confirms the season finale airs this weekend. Season 45 will end with 18 episodes, three short of a typical 21-episode season. Season 45 will also be the shortest SNL season since the 12-episode writers' strike-shortened 2007-08 season.
