The six-episode Scream: Resurrection will finally air after more than three years of retooling as a three-night event, premiering on VH1 on Monday, July 8, and concluding on Wednesday, July 10, with two episodes airing each night. MTV renewed Scream for a shortened third season way back in October 2016. Since Scream's last episode aired in August 2016, both MTV and VH1 have moved away from scripted series, with Scream being MTV's last remaining scripted series. Scream will also, for the first time, use the Ghostface mask, which was ditched for Seasons 1 and 2 so that the TV series could assert its independence from the film franchise. Roger Jackson will reprise his role as Ghostface's voice. Paris Jackson will guest-star in Season 3, joining the previously announced Mary J. Blige, Keke Palmer, Tyler Posey, Tyga and RJ Cyler, who will be the focus of the third season. Queen Latifah has also come aboard as an executive producer.
