Seann William Scott returning to Fox for mockumentary This Country

Scott has agreed to star in the remake of British BBC mockumentary series This Country from writer Jenny Bicks and director Paul Feig. Scott's casting marks a return to Fox after making his TV series debut in 2018 replacing Clayne Crawford on Lethal Weapon for its final season. According to Deadline, Scott was one of the most sought-after actors this pilot season, fielding multiple offers. This Country follows the daily lives of cousins Kelly and Shrub Mallet, who are trailed by a documentary crew in their small town of Flatch, Ohio. Scott will play Father Joe, a community leader and father figure in their hometown whose patience is constantly tested by Kelly and Shrub, but who resolves to stay an optimist and role model.
