Starz has named a new American Gods showrunner after an extensive search

New executive producer Jesse Alexander has previously worked with former co-showrunner Bryan Fuller on Star Trek: Discovery and Hannibal. Alexander succeeds Fuller and Michael Green, who exited the Starz series despite having already written the first six episodes of Season 2. According to The Hollywood Reporter, author Neil Gaiman was unhappy with Fuller and Green's plans to take the show in their own direction. Under new showrunner Alexander, American Gods will scrap the six scripts and be more of a straight adaptation of Gaiman's novel.
