Colbert first introduced Scripto while working on The Colbert Report because TV news-comedy shows had become reliant on another application that TV newsrooms around the world used, but wasn’t flexible enough for a comedy news show. Now Scripto is used on a bunch of TV comedy-news shows, from John Oliver’s Last Week Tonight to Robin Theade’s The Rundown to Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.
