Irish Rover Entertainment filed suit Wednesday in California against the Duffer Brothers and Netflix, claiming that Stranger Things features a lot of similarities to Totem, an unproduced screenplay written by Jeffrey Kennedy, including “plot, sequence, characters, theme, dialogue, mood, and setting, as well as copyrighted concept art.” The lawsuit alleges that the script and the show are connected by a man named Aaron Sims, who went from working closely with Kennedy to creating the concept art for the first two seasons of Stranger Things. A similar lawsuit was filed in 2018 by a man named Charles Kessler, who dropped his lawsuit the day before it was set to go on trial.
