Survivor: Fiji alum Michelle Yi was briefly hospitalized after she was attacked with a deadly weapon in Santa Monica

Yi, who appeared on Survivor: Fiji in spring 2007, was reportedly stabbed and beaten with a metal pipe early last Thursday morning, according to her friend Murtz Jaffer, who added: “She has been released from hospital with stitches on the right side of her face after being attacked with a pipe and is recovering at home.” Santa Monica Police tell Heavy there is no indication that Yi, who is Asian American, was the victim of a hate crime. A homeless woman, who is white, was later arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
